Black women started to wear the turban way before it became a trend in Paris in the 40s.

In the 90's Afro American singers like Eryka Badu and Lauryn Hill chose to recapture their history not only by writting songs celebrating their heritage but by having proud in their natural hair too. 

We were (and still are !) the biggest fans of Lauryn Hill, and the way she is wearing her turban enhance her beautiful features (Please Lauryn come back to Paris !). Erykah Badu's turbans were her crown, her turbans were always colorful and impressive. 

These ladies tought us that no matter what, we should be proud of who we are. Nothing make us happier than seeing gorgeous african ladies in Paris wearing their turban and traditional outfit to go to the grocery store !
